Had a nice 5 mile walk along Ocean Beach from Sloat to the Beach Chalet and back. The snowy plovers were out in force and were fascinating to watch as they ventured into the water and ran away from the waves.
Went to a friend’s house for dinner; she made roasted veggies and a delicious chicken stew. I brought vanilla mousse with berries. Yum!
Drove up to Sonoma with friends, bringing my car to more than 100,000 miles. Picked up some wine that we ordered in future form last year at Zichichi Winery and hit a few other places.
Vanilla bean mousse, with vanilla paste instead of vanilla bean. Whole Foods had no vanilla beans so I brought this home instead. Tasty, and considerably easier than scraping down vanilla beans for fun and profit.
Chocolate chip banana bread. We had some overripe bananas, and also had some in the freezer which it was suggested I use 🙂
Finished reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I found it to be a pretty quick and entertaining read about creativity, and the relationship people have with their creativity. Makes me think it’s time to get in a better habit/ rhythm with my fiction writing.
Started reading Over the Edge of the World: Magellan’s Terrifying Circumnavigation of the Globe by Laurence Bergreen. The book is about exactly what it says it is and was chosen by my former coworker book group. I’m *just* getting to the point where Magellan and the rest of the armada are leaving Spain.
