After not getting as much exercise as usual on a family trip over the summer, I’m getting back into the swing of things and am trying to work more movement into my days.

I was really happy to finally receive a replacement adjustable kettlebell from Kettlebell Kings after mine fell apart early in the summer. Their customer service is excellent, as is having a kettlebell I can use at different weights. Since last year’s shelter in place started, I’ve been working out virtually with the Lotus Method. I’ve realized that I like to have someone tell me what to do when I’m exercising so I don’t have to think about it, and it’s been great.

I’ve continued to enjoy Zoom myofascial release classes (aka Roll and Refresh) with Holly at Movement Labs. She’s based in Singapore, but I love that I can play the recording of the class when it’s convenient for me. It’s helped work through some of the physical manifestations of, you know, living through a pandemic, and requires very little equipment (2 balls and a yoga block).

Through work we have access to yoga and meditation classes. I’d stopped going a while back due to timing, but have been making an effort to make at least 2 classes/ week to improve my stress levels 🙂

Have also been trying to get out for a walk at least once a day; unfortunately I’ve been thwarted by the air quality more often than I’d like. Fire season in CA is no joke, and I hope we get some rain soon.

Before having kids, I was really into Zumba. That all stopped around 16 weeks with my first because twerking and an ever-expanding belly didn’t really jive. On the days when the air is too horrible to go out, I’ve been choosing a few of these videos to jam to.

Any favorite ways to move or de-stress lately?
